Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON)
Discovered on 21 September 2012, the image below was taken on the night of November 18/19, 2012 at about 10:28 UT when the comet was traveling in the NW part of Cancer. The image was taken with a Meade 0.4 m SCT-ACF at f/7 and a QSI 516ws CCD camera. The image is a 600 second exposure through a Cousins Rc filter. The comet was measured at magnitude 17.2 using Sloan SDSS -DR8 rmag comparison stars. The comet is over 5 AU (774 million km) away.
